Faculty Chairs and RISE Scholarships

The IUPUI IMPACT campaign offers donors an endowment income matching gift program for faculty chairs and undergraduate RISE scholarships.

Endow a Faculty Chair

• Chairs must be endowed at a minimum of $1.5 million.
• Schools may stipulate that certain endowed chairs require amounts greater than 1.5 million.
• For endowed chairs the annual payout will be 5 percent of the donor's original gift, with the match cost split equally between the campus and the beneficiary unit. All matches will be in perpetuity.
• Chairs will be eligible for matching if funded by outright gifts, pledges to be completed over no more than five years, or irrevocable life-income deferred gifts. For irrevocable life-income deferred gifts to qualify, the donor must attain age 65 by the conclusion of the campaign.

Endow an Undergraduate RISE Scholarship

• Donors may fund a RISE scholarship for a gift of $20,000.
• The match will consist of an annual payout, funded entirely by the campus, equal to 2.5 percent of the donor's original gift.
• RISE scholarships will be eligible for income matching if funded by either outright gifts or by pledges to be paid over five years. Deferred gifts will not qualify.
• All RISE gifts will be matched regardless of the unit they will reside within, subject to available budgeted funds.

Endowment gifts received between July 1, 2010 and June 30, 2013 are eligible for the income match. The current spending policy and the investment policy set by the IU Foundation Board of Directors determines the actual payment from the endowment fund.
